Active Kids Soccer League U-6

Our Active Kids Soccer League U-6 program (4-5yr olds) is the next step in our progression of learning the game of soccer. A proactive week on basic fundamentals at the beginning of the season and a game week to reinforce those fundamentals is utilized to help produce kids that not only can play the game of soccer but can enjoy it too, because next year they'll use those skills with a higher intensity.

Kids who also have continuing practice at home will develop the muscle memory it takes to excel in this sport and further enjoy their time on the soccer field. Further information on soccer drills can be found here

This time frame of a child's life is one they'll be able to look back on and have good memories of times in the backyard with Mom or Dad. Take advantage of this time because it goes by so quickly.




As we get ready for a great fall season, I have a few quick reminders for our new players and our Mini-Kickers that are moving up.

There are three practice groups in the U-6 age bracket. It is important to remember that not attending practice will not affect your child's play time. The practice is set-up to enhance your child's soccer experience. If the group you are practicing with falls on a night you can't attend, please let me know. Each group is broken up based on previous skill and playing ability, age and experience. Group 1 is comprised of our more experienced players, so a new player may feel a little intimidated, but they are still more than welcome to come and practice. Please try to come to only one practice a week. If players come to more than one, it takes away from the experience of the others.

Also, our season will run a little differently. The first four games will be played with me on the sidelines, but the last three will be with Mom/Dad coaches.
So, parents, here is your chance. Come to the practices and learn a little about the game!

Our game rules are as follows:
Roster-7
Play 3vs3 (no goalies)
Game duration- 4,8 minute quarters with 2 minute halftime.
Bring water to all practices and games.
Bring ball to practices (size 3)
All players must wear shin-gaurds at practices and games (under socks).

This season we will be playing on our new AKSL field, located at 55 Liles Dean Road, Wendell (behind ABC Land daycare). We will be notifying you by email or calling post when uniforms are ready and available for pick-up.
