Active Kids Soccer League U-8, the beginning of lots of soccer drills.

The beginning of lots of soccer drills. Our Active Kids Soccer League U-8 program is where we really start to intensify the training. Our practice each week includes individual technique and really puts an emphasis on team play, there is no I in team. This age group loves to drill and it's a key technique in maintaining what we've learned. Of course it's not so regimented that they get bored, there's plenty of ball time with this group.

The training and drills are geared toward the players experience level. If this is the first time the child has been on the field, the drills are not as intense. The child is brought along at a maintainable pace. If the child has been playing since the mini-kickers league then they are ready for high intensity and are well equipped to keep pace.

This is one of the most important age groups as it really prepares the child for the fast action of the U-10's and above.

As we prepare for another season, I'm extremely excited about this age group.
After rearranging the teams, it should be interesting to see new players and old players mixing together. My favorite thing about this age group is that they are a group of highly skilled players and they are a lot of fun to watch.

This age group is the first to have goal-keepers. I'm looking forward to some very competitive games.

Don't forget your practice night and bring your balls (size 3). Always wear your shin-guards (under your socks) to every practice and game.

Key game rules are as follows:
Number of players on field: 7
Play: 5 vs 5 (plus goalie)
Game duration: 4, 12 minute quarters with 3 minute halftime.


This season we will be playing on our new AKSL field, located at 55 Liles Dean Road, Wendell (behind ABC Land daycare). We will be notifying you by email or calling post when uniforms are ready and available for pick-up.
